Water has always accompanied me. I am trained in water management and I followed technical studies in the Netherlands in hydrology, irrigation, drainage and resource conservation techniques. I have a strong interest in international development and I worked in rural development at the start of my career for several international organizations (United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization, United Nations Development Program and the Dutch section of Médecins sans frontières).
I have been working in the municipality of Nijmegen since 2005, as a project manager. I am responsible for complex planning and development projects and it is under my responsibility that for the first time, in the Netherlands, renewable energy was purchased in batch, involving several municipalities. On a daily basis, I alternate between technical tasks and team management and I have followed several training courses focused on communication and negotiation tools.
I have been writing for SophiaMag since 2023 and I am glad to contribute from another perspective on global societal questions.
